RULES TO SPRING CONVENTION VOTED DOWN BY STATE COMMITTEE

TALLY RESULTS REVEALED
46 MEMBERS VOTE AGAINST (NO) PASSING THE RULES
44 MEMBERS VOTE IN FAVOR OF (YES) PASSING RULES
Statement on Recent Voting Results and Appreciation for Contributions
The initial reported results showed 46 votes in favor (YES) and 44 votes against (NO). However, it was later discovered that two Members’ votes had been incorrectly recorded as “NOT VOTING.” After correcting this error, the NO tally was updated to 46. Despite the correction, the YES count also increased by 2 votes, resulting in a net shift of 4 votes. We have requested additional information to clarify this discrepancy, including access to the original tally sheets. Our goal is to understand how this error occurred and, more importantly, to implement any necessary procedural changes to prevent similar issues in the future.
Appreciation for Committee Members and Delegates
We  wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Committee Members who dedicated considerable time, thought, and effort into drafting the proposed amendments, which were ultimately voted down for a variety of reasons.

The meeting lasted seven and a half hours, from 7:30 PM to 3:00 AM, with 90 members (or proxies) fulfilling their duties by remaining until the final vote. We deeply appreciate the Members who remained engaged into the early hours of the morning, motivated by a shared hope that this Committee could approve Convention Rules that we could all stand behind. We remain optimistic that achieving this goal is still within our reach.

Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the precinct delegates, activists, party loyalists, and engaged constituents who made their voices heard. Your outreach and efforts to ensure that your opinions and concerns were considered were instrumental. Without your support, the defeat of the $20,000 filing fee and the call for greater transparency for a paper ballot hand count process would not have been possible.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you”.    Matthew 17:20-21
